The Heart of KJ

My name is Loren and I am a 22 year old recent graduate from UCF. I have my Bachelors in Health Sciences Pre-Clinical Track, and will be attending Physician Assistant school in the Fall of 2020. 

 

October 16, 2018 was a day that I and several others, received the kind of information that places your heart in your gut. Kyle Janeczek, late Dartmouth Medical School student, son, brother, and best friend to many, had his life taken from him. Kyle was diagnosed with the heart condition known as Wolff-Parkinson White Syndrome, a very rare heart condition that involves irregularities in the hearts electrical pathways. This condition was able to cause an arrhythmia that ended such a vibrant persons life much too soon.

Kyle was and still is the most genuine person that I have ever been lucky enough to grow close to. His personality was full of life and color, he was the kind of person that saw the best in you, even when you didn't see it yourself. Not only was he a bright and overwhelmingly loving soul, but Kyle was intelligent in more ways than one. He was able to show his creative intelligence through playing the guitar and his knowledge through medicine. Kyle was the type of person that if you didn't know him, you were missing out. He was kind to every single human and could have a conversation for hours about any range of topics. When he smiled, you felt warm and when he laughed, you laughed. Kyle played a huge role in my career path/future and pushed me through times where I never thought I would be able to make it through school. I owe it to Kyle and the rest of the world to try to make a difference and bring awareness to Wolff-Parkinson.
